Does colour powder stain or dye clothes?

Party GOAT colour powder is not intended to stain or dye clothing.

Dry powder is unlikely to leave stains on most materials. When the colour powder gets wet and soaks into clothes (from water or sweat) additional cleaning will be required.

Follow the steps in the question below to remove or prevent stains.

Caution: Porous surfaces (leather, vinyl, suede, foam) are challenging to clean.

Avoid wearing valuable items to colour events.

Is colour powder safe?

Yes, Party GOAT Colour Powder is made from cornstarch and food grade colours. It is biodegradable, gluten free, and safe for skin and the environment. Wearing sunglasses can help to protect your eyes. If powder gets in your eyes, rinse with water.

How do I clean soaked in colour powder from clothes?

Follow the steps below to remove or prevent stains:

Wash clothes promptly after the event to prevent colours from setting in.
Shake off excess dry colour powder outdoors.
Soak clothes in a laundry soaker (like Oxiclean) overnight.
For white clothes, you can use a laundry whitener.
Wash in a heavy-duty cycle with an inwash booster.
Dry clothes in the sun.

Does colour powder stain hair or skin?

Regular soap and water should effectively remove colour powder from your skin and hair. However, some colour may persist for a few days, particularly on blonde hair. To prevent staining, consider applying a moisturiser to your skin and using a leave-in conditioner or coconut oil on your hair before the event. Alternatively, you might want to wear a hat or bandana.

How do I clean colour powder from outdoor areas?

If the dry colour powder gets on your walls, footpaths, driveways etc. we recommend using a leaf blower firstly to blow it off on to the grass. You can then use a hose and sponge if necessary to finish the job.

How much Colour Powder do you need?

Everyone's use case is a bit different for their different colour powder events so here is some quick information to give you an idea of what to expect.

How much Colour Powder do you need for a Colour War?

For colour wars we recommend a little more powder per participant than what is recommended for a colour run as the powder is usually thrown thick and fast in a colour war. 680g per participant is usually a good starting point for a fun colour war.
